Project
Nuevo Mundo
For Viña De Martino, I worked on the label redesign for two wines in their “Nuevo Mundo” (New World) line, organic wines featuring a butterfly symbolizing vineyard biodiversity and balance.
The Idea
The concept aimed to modernize the line’s visual identity and break away from traditional European label design codes. I drew inspiration from the approach of wineries in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, which have differentiated themselves from classic French or Spanish design by creating their own contemporary aesthetic.
If “Nuevo Mundo” (New World) references southern hemisphere wines versus the European “Old World,” the label should also express this differentiation: a fresh, modern visual identity that doesn’t imitate European conventions.

My Role
My Approach & Contributions
I developed two differentiated labels to visually communicate the line’s hierarchy.
Entry Level: Clean typography combined with a watercolor butterfly illustration that brings freshness, lightness, and differentiation. The soft color palette (blues and greens) reinforces the organic message without falling into the typical golds and reds of traditional labels.
Reserve: A completely white label with embossed textures, communicating purity, sophistication, and a radical minimalist approach. The absence of color allows the embossing to take center stage, completely breaking with tradition and expressing exclusivity.
Both labels visually communicate “new world wine”: contemporary, organic, with their own identity.
